This beautiful fish fountain is ashtray! It`s made in shape of fountain with Ancient dolphin figure in the middle and six detached petals in shape of fish. All of them easy separated and used as simple object for shaking off ashes and quenching the cigarettes
Amazing story associated with this subject, for me. I purchased this object at auction without knowing its real purpose. I just liked it! I thought it was small silver scoops for food, even found confirmation of my hypothesis on the Internet. My French friends laughed because it turned out that this is ashtray! Such a French gallantness, even in small details
When ashtray is empty, the fountain will blossom and likes like an open flower. After use, petals are inserted by back side, closed burgeon is produced. Very artistic, does not it?
The central fish and felling-petals are made of silver-plated metal, the bottom of the fountain is white metal
